Simvia at the "Test-Simulation Dialogue" Thematic Days 2026 (JT-DEC)
When testing drives simulation: Simvia presents its approach to inverse identification of constitutive laws from field measurements.

Overview
The "Dialogue Essais-Calculs" Thematic Days (JT-DEC) focus on the synergy between testing and simulation in solid mechanics. Organised by CSA de TA, they aim to bring together a community of industrial and academic players around this broad topic. The event takes place on November 17 and 18, 2026 at DGA Techniques aérospatiales (TA) in Balma, near Toulouse, France.
Simvia will present its work on the inverse identification of constitutive laws from field measurements. The idea: combine field measurements from digital image correlation (DIC) with finite element simulated mechanical tests, in order to select a constitutive law on objective criteria rather than on expert judgement alone. This approach lies at the heart of what ConstituFit does.
Why attend
- A programme entirely dedicated to test-simulation dialogue: around a dozen talks on field measurements, image correlation, inverse identification and uncertainty control.
- A close-knit community: a format that encourages direct exchanges between industry and research.
- A look inside DGA test facilities: a tour of the DGA TA test facilities is offered on the morning of November 18.
What you will learn
November 17 – When testing drives simulation: towards inverse identification of constitutive laws from field measurements
- Why choosing a constitutive law often remains subjective, and how to make it objective
- Combining several data sources: DIC field measurements and finite element simulated mechanical tests
- Identifying the parameters of candidate laws and comparing how well they reproduce the tests
- How this approach connects to ConstituFit
