[Replay] Platine Master - What would a faster way to design base plates look like?
September 30, 2026

Video summary
Most base plates are still checked the same way. You open a spreadsheet, assume the plate is rigid, and get your anchor forces a few minutes later. Most of the time that is fine. But a real plate bends, its edge presses back on the concrete, and the anchors end up carrying more than the hand calculation says. Spotting the cases where it matters usually takes a finite element model nobody has time to build.
In this webinar, the Simvia team gives a first look at Platine Master, a prototype that runs a finite element check of column bases in your browser. You fill in a single form, Salome builds the mesh and code_aster runs the nonlinear analysis, with nothing to install or script. On the simple centred case run live, the anchor tension comes out 31% higher than under the rigid plate assumption. The team also shows what runs behind the tool and how the private beta works.

How to make and run a simple CFD case on salome_CFD
This video is a quick overview of how to use the salome_CFD workflow: the GEOM module to create a CAD model, the SMESH module to discretize the geometry, the code_saturne GUI to set up and run a simple laminar case with code_saturne, and the ParaVis module to post-process and visualize the results.
