Platine Master: rethinking the design of base plates.
What if dimensioning a column base plate no longer took 2 to 4 hours?
Get a sneak preview of Platine Master, our cloud-based finite element analysis prototype, and help us decide how to proceed.
The design of column base plates is a recurring task in almost every steel structure project. And despite existing tools, it remains a repetitive task that can take an experienced engineer several hours to complete, including the preparation of the design report.
We are developing Platine Master, a tool accessible directly via a web browser that enables the design of a base plate using finite element simulation with code_aster in the cloud, with no installation required and no reliance on a proprietary software vendor.
Over the course of 45 minutes, we’ll show you what we’ve built, what still needs to be resolved, and we’ll ask for your feedback.
Why take part?
- See how Platine Master handles the design of column base plates, from inputting geometry and forces right through to analysing the results.
- Share your views before the final decisions are made – the product is still under development. Calculation verification, standards compliance, section library, force transfer, APIs, batch calculations…
- This webinar is also an opportunity to discuss your own working practices: what is currently wasting your time, the limitations of the tools you use, and the level of justification you require for your projects.

What we’ll show you in 45 minutes
1 – The problem
Why does the design of circuit boards remain such a time-consuming task, despite the solutions already available?
02 – Our approach
Where might Platine Master fit in amongst existing tools?
03 - Live demo of the prototype
Geometry → forces → meshing → finite element analysis → results.
04 - Outstanding issues
Validation, compliance with standards, section data, force transfer, APIs, batch processing…
05 - Your feedback
What’s missing? What would stop you from using it? And what, on the other hand, would save you enough time to make it worth adopting?
This webinar is for you if…
You work in a structural engineering consultancy or regularly carry out structural calculations for steel structures, and:
-
the design of column bases is a recurring task in your projects;
-
you find the current process too time-consuming or too repetitive;
-
you’d like to see what an EF calculation carried out entirely in the cloud can offer;
-
you have strict requirements regarding the justification of calculations and compliance;
-
you’d like to be able to influence a tool whilst it is still in the design phase.
