Our role
Open source simulation software developed within EDF's R&D has been used for decades on demanding engineering cases. Simvia exists to turn this heritage into operational solutions for industrial teams: deployment, support, industrialisation, performance and reproducibility, without proprietary lock-in.
Our values
Our approach relies on open source while meeting strict industrial requirements for quality, traceability and robustness. It favours transparent models and full control of the computation chain, with no black box. It also guarantees more freedom and durability by limiting dependence on a single vendor. Finally, it comes with an active commitment to contributing to and animating the communities, to strengthen the ecosystem over time.
Our heritage
Simvia builds on the experience of EDF's R&D, which has been developing and maintaining simulation codes in structural mechanics, fluid mechanics and environmental hydraulics for more than 35 years. These tools are used by an international community of several thousand users.
