Who are we?

EDF Lab Paris-Saclay premises
"A subsidiary of the EDF group, Simvia is a software-engineering company dedicated to the industrialisation of open-source numerical simulation software for industry."

Our role

Open-source simulation software developed within EDF's R&D has been used for decades on demanding engineering cases.Simvia exists to transform this heritage into operational solutions for industrial teams: deployment, support, industrialisation, performance and reproducibility, without proprietary lock-in.

Our posture (DNA)

  • Open source, with industrial requirements (quality, traceability, robustness).
  • Transparency of models and control of computation chains (no black box).
  • Freedom and longevity (reducing supplier lock-in).
  • Contribution and community activation to strengthen the ecosystem.

Our heritage and legitimacy

Simvia builds on EDF's R&D experience, which has been developing and maintaining simulation codes in structural mechanics, fluid mechanics and environmental hydraulics for more than 35 years. These tools are used by an international community of several thousand users.
"At Simvia, the value lies not only in the software but in the team that can deploy, industrialise and evolve it in demanding industrial contexts."

Our team

Our team brings together expertise in multi-physics simulation, HPC, software industrialisation and cloud deployment. We combine scientific expertise and operational requirements to make open source reliable in production.
