[Install & Run] csauto for VS Code: your first code_saturne parametric study

October 27, 2026

Video summary

csauto generates simulation cases from a template case and a parameter table, runs them locally (native, Docker or Singularity) or on a Slurm cluster, and lets you follow and compare them from a dashboard inside VS Code.

In this video:

  • Install csauto from the VS Code Marketplace
  • Set up a study from the built-in code_saturne example
  • See how the parameter table (doe.csv) drives the template: {placeholders} replaced by values, IF blocks keeping only the matching section, placeholders in user source code
  • Run the cases with Docker and follow residuals, solver log and probes live
