Annual code_aster & salome_meca User Day - March 30, 2026
Past event – a look back at the 2026 edition, which brought the code_aster and salome_meca community together on March 30, 2026 at EDF Lab Paris-Saclay.
Overview
This event took place on March 30, 2026. The next edition will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2027: discover the 2027 edition
On March 30, 2026, the Annual code_aster and salome_meca User Meeting brought the open-source engineering simulation community together at EDF Lab Paris-Saclay for a full day of exchanges, held entirely in English.
EDF developers, industrial and academic users, and simulation experts from many sectors shared their experience, research and developments around code_aster and salome_meca. Thirteen talks covered aeronautics, nuclear, civil engineering, cement production and high-performance computing, followed by EDF's presentation of new features and the roadmap for both tools.
Why attend
- A community brought together: developers, industry players and researchers met in one place to share their practices and needs.
- Concrete industrial feedback: Framatome, Airbus, Natran, Avnir Energy and Aether Engineering, among others, presented real-world use cases.
- A look at the future of the tools: EDF presented new features and the roadmap for code_aster and salome_meca.
- A great place to connect: breaks and Q&A sessions allowed direct discussions with the developers.

How to make and run a simple CFD case on salome_CFD
This video is a quick overview of how to use the salome_CFD workflow: the GEOM module to create a CAD model, the SMESH module to discretize the geometry, the code_saturne GUI to set up and run a simple laminar case with code_saturne, and the ParaVis module to post-process and visualize the results.
